A note from our practice

Life can be incredibly heavy, and if you are reading this, you might be carrying a weight that has finally become too much to manage on your own.

Perhaps you are waking up every morning with a racing heart, dreading a day that hasn’t even started. Maybe you are moving through a dense, exhausting fog of depression that makes even the simplest tasks feel like mountains. Or, you might be navigating a complex life transition, a painful relationship shift, or unresolved wounds from your past that keep pulling you backward no matter how hard you try to move forward.

Whatever it is that brought you here today, we want you to know one fundamental truth: You do not have to figure this out alone.

What we help with

Compassionate Counseling for the Challenges You Face

Mental health is not a one-size-fits-all experience. The struggles you face are unique to your life, your history, and your daily environment. Because our practice is home to a diverse team of eight highly skilled providers, we are uniquely equipped to support a wide spectrum of emotional and psychological challenges.

We do not just treat symptoms; we work collaboratively with you to understand the root causes of your distress. Here are the core areas where our individual therapy services can help you find lasting relief:

Anxiety, Panic, and Chronic Overthinking

Anxiety is far more than just “worrying.” It is a full-body experience. It can look like a tight chest, restless nights, perfectionism, or the constant, exhausting need to anticipate everything that could possibly go wrong. When anxiety takes the driver’s seat, it robs you of your ability to be present in your own life.

Our Springfield anxiety therapists help you step out of the cycle of overthinking. We work with you to calm your overactive nervous system, identify the core triggers of your panic, and build grounded, actionable coping strategies so you can face daily stressors with confidence rather than fear.

Depression, Burnout, and Emotional Fatigue

Depression often whispers that things will never get better, draining your motivation and leaving you feeling disconnected from the people and activities you once loved. You might feel a profound sense of emptiness, chronic fatigue, or a lingering sense of worthlessness that you just can’t shake.

In individual therapy, we provide a judgment-free space to gently unpack these heavy feelings. We focus on helping you rebuild your daily momentum at a pace that feels safe and manageable. Together, we will work to lift the fog, restore your energy, and help you rediscover a sense of purpose and joy.

Trauma Recovery and Healing Unresolved Wounds

Sometimes, the past refuses to stay in the past. Whether you have experienced a single traumatic event, systemic adversity, or complex childhood trauma, these experiences can deeply alter your sense of safety in the world. You might find yourself easily triggered, struggling with trust, or feeling emotionally numb.

Our trauma-informed clinicians provide an incredibly safe, paced environment to help you process painful memories without re-traumatizing you. We utilize specialized modalities to help your brain and body release stored trauma, allowing you to finally leave the past behind and build a secure, empowered future.

Life Transitions, Stress, and Identity Exploration

Life rarely moves in a straight line. Major transitions—such as a career change, entering college, a difficult breakup, entering parenthood, or exploring your personal identity—can completely upend your foundational sense of self.

Therapy is an excellent space to navigate these turbulent waters. We offer a profoundly validating environment to explore who you are, grieve what you are leaving behind, and intentionally design the next chapter of your life.

Tools for Emotional Regulation (DBT)

Dialectical Behavior Therapy is a highly effective, skills-based approach. It is designed for individuals who experience intense, overwhelming emotions. We teach you practical skills for distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness so you can navigate conflict without losing your emotional balance.

Restructuring Thoughts (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy helps you identify the negative, critical narratives playing on a loop in your mind. We help you challenge these unhelpful thoughts and replace them with balanced, realistic perspectives that promote healthier behaviors and improved self-esteem.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

Call (417) 409-3008
Do I have to come to your office, or do you offer online therapy?

We offer both! You can see us in person at our warm, inviting Springfield office located at 1736 East Sunshine, Ste 700. If you prefer the comfort of your own home, or if you live elsewhere in the state, we offer secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth counseling for all Missouri residents.

How long does therapy take to work?

Therapy is a highly individualized process. Some clients find significant relief from anxiety or acute stress in just a few weeks of focused skill-building. For others navigating deep-rooted trauma or chronic depression, the therapeutic journey is a longer, supportive process. We continuously evaluate your progress to ensure we are always moving toward your goals.

What if I’ve never been to therapy before?

It is completely normal to feel nervous before your first session! Your therapist’s primary goal in the beginning is simply to get to know you, understand what you are going through, and help you feel comfortable. You will never be pushed to talk about anything you aren’t ready to share.

How do you match me with one of your 8 providers?

During the intake process, we carefully review your primary concerns, your schedule, your insurance network, and your personal preferences to pair you with the clinician who is the absolute best clinical and personality fit for you.
