My path to becoming a counselor began with personal tragedy: the sudden death of a loved one. Therapy was an immense help while I tried to hold myself together, and it led me to believe that no one should have to go through the dark times alone. Dark times can mean different things to different people, and that’s okay.

My office mixes slightly nerdy, quirky style with professional decor. My approach ranges from gentle and holding space to humorous and laid-back, always leaving room for you to find your own solutions and build confidence along the way.

Your first session

We’ll start with housekeeping: practice and privacy policies and the limits of confidentiality. Then we’ll talk about what prompted you to seek help now, the symptoms or struggles you’re facing, and some background history, so I can understand where you’re coming from. Together we’ll start shaping your goals, and you’re welcome to ask me anything about my experience or style. I know you may be nervous to start, and that’s okay. We can take it as slow as you need.

Who I work best with

Because of my own experiences, I do especially well helping clients with grief of all kinds, including those who have lost someone close to them to suicide. I also help with depression, anxiety, life transitions, and everyday stress, and with chronic health conditions that affect daily life and mental health. I’m an LGBTQIA+ ally and work well with clients who are part of stigmatized groups.

Outside the office

In my free time I enjoy playing with my two cats, watching anime, reading, playing video games (especially ESO Online and Nintendo games), and learning new things. I love learning so much that I graduated from Missouri State University twice: a bachelor’s in psychology and a master’s in clinical mental health counseling. Notable trainings include PESI’s Advanced Grief Certification Training and the Mental Health Academy 2026 Suicide Prevention Summit.
